AREAS OF FOCUS

new economies

A “NEW ECONOMY” IS NOT NECESSARILY NEW.

Fondation Dents-de-Lion invests in initiatives that challenge what we know to be an economic system in need of transformation,  both from the inside and outside of institutions.

When we recognize the value of all kinds of labour, and responsible stewardship of the land we all share, we can ensure that the wealth that comes from community stays there.

justice

WHAT IS “LEGAL” IS NOT ALWAYS RIGHT OR ETHICAL.

Fondation Dents-de-Lion supports initiatives working towards transformation in the legal, carceral, and judicial systems towards the dignity of all.

The law should work best for the most vulnerable, including those who have committed crime, using a preventative, and rehabilitative approach. We also believe in supporting community-led safety and resolution initiatives.

select partners

Fondation Dents-de-Lion invests across levels of systems change work from national policy advocacy to grassroots organizations at all stages of development.

We are learning as we go, starting from a small centre and allowing our work to flow outwards as new needs, ideas, and groups come to us. As we continue building connections, we will spread our resources across interconnected networks to hold up a cohesive system.

Dents-de-Lion is not currently accepting applications or unsolicited requests for funding. Our team is actively cultivating our network of values-aligned partners.

There may be specific funding opportunities announced in the future.

As Director of Operations, I think a lot about how our workplace and the tools we use in it can model the world as we want it to be, and love digging into processes, systems and building with folks.

  • I’m challenged by: frowns and borders

  • Ask me about: Sweater math, dye plants, and natural fibres.

RICHENDA
